Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"It seems that I do not require much more sleep than you, Gale Onarav." She opens a nearby cupboard and scans for a beverage.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Do you plan on always addressing me with my full name?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I suppose it is your decision, if you would wish for me to address you in a more casual manner.." She continues rummaging through what seems like endless bottles of wine.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Yes I would. I find the constant use of my last name far to formal." Gale stands and exits the kitchen.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She nods slightly and continues rummaging. Having been unable to find anything other than red wine, she leaves as well, looking for anything of interest.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale walks through a series of hallways and turns left and right abruptly. Most of these hallways were traps anyway. He wondered if Laena and One could figure that out. One could sense them, and Laena had managed to follow him around the night before, so he dismissed the thought. He throws open another pair of double doors. He looks at the courtyard, the center of it being a small "island" with water surrounding it. A small bridge connected the island to the rest of the yard. Except now the water was frozen, and small particles of white fluttered to the ground. The light filled the castle, it was filtered with the grey clouds below the sun. "....I hate cold."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Hmmph.. Such a large castle for only one person.." She opens a door to what appears to be a closet, and a pile of bones tumble out to the floor. She stares blankly at it for a minute, then laughs. "I see.. You weren't the original owner then.."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale stares at the falling snow for a minute before jumping into the air. He wall-jumps off of the towers of the castle until he reaches the tallest one. He then sits and looks across the valley, forest and lake that surround his castle. In the distance he can see the Tri-Links comlex. He doesn't move, content on merely viewing everything.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena eventually finds herself climbing up a spiraling staircase, and quickly throws open the door at the top. "Hmmph.. Of all the rooms I choose to enter in this giant castle, and I choose the one you happen to be in, Gale."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale doesn't turn around to face Laena and keeps his eyes on the horizion. A slight smiles forms on his lips, she had called him by his first name as he requested. "You seem to navigate rather well. You haven't triggered any traps."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One, without a word to Gale or Laena, had went to go take a nap. But after an hours rest, he woke up. He then walked out of the room and began browsing around the more.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"So....this was Estecia Castle. As expected with this particular Abbis it looks like Dracula re-decorated it. I bet Dracula had better defenses though. According to my data the thing is easily invadable. The question is, do I invade? Hmm..." Legion whistles to himself and burns the nearby ground. "Damned Earth. No matter what the time of year is the weather sucks. I'll get my chance to burn it eventually, just got to wait for the other boss."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Her gaze turns towards him. "Traps? I'm afraid I don't understand why you insist on keeping everybody out. I would imagine someone would like a bit of company in such a large castle."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I rarely have good company. As you can see, most of my "guests" have some personal grudge against me. I won't call them unfoudned, but their persistance it persuing revenge is annoying." Gale leans over the edge of the tower, looking down at the courtyard. He takes a deep breath, he hated the cold, but cold air was much more refreshing then warm air. "I'm curious, do Siren's fear anything? I'd say nothing, due to how little contact you have with others without killing them, but I don't think I'd say there's anyone fearless either. So, which one am I correct in thinking?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"What do I fear...?" A smile crosses her lips. "That is a rather interesting question..." She looks up at the ceiling in thought. "I suppose I fear the thought of immortality.. I have ended the lives of hundreds of men.. And I wonder.. Where do those spirits go once their last breath has escaped?" She looks down to the floor. "I'm well aware of the stories of Heaven and Hell.... But I'll never know what these places are like.. And that terrifies me."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale lets out a slight chuckle. "It seems that the one fear that every being posseses is the same, instinctal one, the fear of the unknown. Heh, if there is a Heaven and Hell, I do not doubt my destination. If not, non-existance is my fate. Even with such knowledge, there's the cold, chilling feeling that creeps down you spine and stops your heart. The fear the comes with knowing you are going to die and there is nothing you can do to stop it. You have seen this in the faces of human men, no?" During Gale's little speech of fear, the tone of his changed into something slightly more errie then usual. Reflecting less of his usual sarcastic and cold side and more of a darker and more sinister part of him that was most likely the end result of his traumatic past. However, he doesn't move or turn to face Laena, he simply looks outside in a rather calm yet chilling fashion.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"It seems that this concept of fear presents some sort of fascination for you." Laena turns and opens a closet, a small pile of remains spills out. "Heh.. I am obviously not the only person here who has stared death straight in the face and laughed."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I have plenty of closests but nothing can be hid if you keep opening them." After the somewhat un-serious answer, he continues. "Of course it's fascinating. Fear is the most powerful weapon of all. Fear is what can break the mighty, on the other hand fear can also motivate a few of the more primitive creatures." Gale picks up some snow from the open window, and watches it melt in his hand. "Creating fear is not only a strong weapon, but also....."amusing." Almost every creature is far more intresting to watch when it's terrified." Gale let's out a muffled chuckle and then crushes the snow in his hand, which was more of a slush right now. He shakes his hand to get the water off.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Just how many lives did you end to make this castle your own?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One, still browsing the castle entered a room. To his surprise, he finds both Laena and Gale having a chat. The room is a small, the smallest of the ones he's seen before. There is a little window, providing light to an otherwise dark room. "Oh, I'm sorry. I was just browsing around. . didn't mean to interrupt anything."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Anyone who didn't run fast enough." Gale lets out a laugh. "Actually I didn't kill all that many. After I eliminated the owner of this estate and anyone who could cause potential problems, I simply set traps. Some of the just went insane and, well, never made it out. However, I'd say there were about twenty people who lived here and were related to the owner, and about 30 servants. Thus the empty rooms." Gale notices One enter and turns to him. "Oh, you haven't interupted much."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena turns and smiles at One. "Have a seat.. Would either of you care for something to drink?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One nods to Laena and takes a seat. "Thank you, Laena."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale raises an eyebrow at Laena. "There's no need for you to offer us anything. It isn't your responsibility to do such things." Gale thinks for a moment and turns to One. "Did Capital have any defenses developed? I know Obersin didn't have any weapons other then Abbis themselves."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"A glass of wine, then." She turns and leaves the room.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Laena, please ignore Gale. I would like a drink if you'd be so kind enough." Turns to Gale. "Defenses? I believe the only defense was simple magic. It was an act of infusing a seemingly indestructable and powerful weapon into an object. That one host would then attack anything that even threatened the Capital. Of course. . it couldn't do everything. . . "
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale scoffs at One's "Ignore Gale" comment, but he doesn't seem to offended. "You mean this?" Gale holds up Sin for One to see.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One stares at Sin. The beauty of it. He never found out what the original form of it was, and the object always fascinated him. Yet, in all the times of knowing Gale owned it, he never asked to take it off his hands for a day to study it. "Yes.. I believe that's it. I'm almost sure of it."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I thought so. E. Gin did something to it though, it changes according to the inner self, or so he said." Gale cracks his knuckles. "I believe there was one given to every member of my part of the family. I'm not sure if Shiloko or Rain have their's, however."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Stares out the window. "What is it you have on your mind, Gale? You want to use that ancient technique? Keep in mind, it is not fool-proof, as that tragic event proves. And how do you know it will not behave differently with whatever E. Gin might have done to it?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"It's merely a defense system. I'll use something simpler then E. Gin's. I might tweak it, however. I just need to develop some and find hosts for it. Then I won't need to worry about intruders."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Hmm. Do you even know the process? I'm told it is nothing too difficult, but I never learned it myself. Not because I didn't want to. . . "
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale let's out a slight chuckle. "Our father may of split himself, but all of his forms managed to be a scientific genius. I think we inherited some of those genes. We could develop it again, with the proper means and notes. Unfortunately, most of Obersin is destroyed and Capital is being used as an Angel outpost. Such things would be difficult to find."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I travel a lot, the only other Abbissian I know of that travles as much as I do is Rain. Maybe you could contact her, she might know." Sigh. "Gale, why is it you have so many problems with Ayn? Myself, I have no problem with her and don't see what the problem is. . . What is it you dislike about her so much?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale's face darkens slightly. "In our diffrence of perception I'm afraid that I could not explain it to you. If you must have an answer, the most general one is that she is everything that I hate." Gale obviously had no intention of going further then that and changed the subject. "As far as Rain, the last time I saw her was before the the Abbis Angel War ended. I have no way of tracking her. Besides, I think you're the only sane sibling in the lot of us. My part of the family is rather....disfunctional."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I see. . . You guys are merely aggressive. Nothing wrong with that. What were you and Laena discussing before I walked in, if I may ask?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Real estate." Gale takes a ciggerate out and lights it.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One laughs. "Would you happen to have cigars? I don't smoke cigarettes. Hell, I haven't smoked in so many years. Anyways, tell me, how have you been keeping fit? You're always a step ahead of me in your training. Have you learned anything new?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena quietly slips back into the kitchen, finding herself rummaging through the pantries for glasses. Not only was Gale not so great with interior design, but the man had no organization in his kitchen. Hmph. Typical male syndrome. She finally locates the glasses, but a movement behind her causes the glasses to fall to the floor and shatter. She smiles, but doesn't turn. "I'm afraid I cannot allow a subhuman to roam freely in this castle.."
She tightens her grip on the hilt of her sword and points it inches away from the back of Laena's throat. "Shut that mouth of yours and I might consider removing your head rather than letting you bleed to death." |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I've got a lot of enemies, that alone keeps me fit." Gale takes a nearby box and take out a cigar, he hands it to One. "I keep some around in every few rooms." Gale reclines in his chair. "I've developed a dark version of holy, which turned out to be rather difficult. However, I'm studying some of the "forbidden techniques" that were restricted from Abbis use."
